Aymeric Gillard

Aymeric grew up sailing in Hong Kong representing Hong Kong (SAR) in numerous competitions including ISAF Youth Worlds and multiple 29er Worlds. Aymeric has also participated in various offshore races of which He was the youngest sailor to compete in the Rolex South China sea race in 2011 as well as winning the event on Black Bassa in 2014. He was also awarded the Tom Lamour Award in 2012. Aymeric went on to study Naval Engineering in the UK and is now completing a Masters Degree in Naval Architecture. He has been involved in designing several foiling dinghies. While studying in UK, he has regularly participated in University Match Racing together with taking part in the most recent Fastnet race on Regazza. he has competed to the Red Bull Foiling Generation in 2016 in Belgium. Having signed the Clean sea’s pledge Aymeric is committed to bringing change to the culture and mindset regarding plastics in our oceans and within the environment. Looking Ahead Aymeric is motivated and passionate in being involved with RHKYC Team Agiplast the first Hong Kong team to compete for the Youth Americas Cup.”
